RPM drop should not exceed 150 RPM on either magneto or 75 RPM differential between magnetos.
Engine should momentarily falter.
*Note: Maintain the safety margin above stall speed with full flap settings. Some aircraft cannot be slipped with full flaps.
Flaps UP: 65 MPH ⇒ 75 MPH
Flaps DOWN: 60 MPH ⇒ 70 MPH

Note terrain and obstructions, then retract flaps upon reaching a safe altitude and airspeed.
High winds, heavy seas: INTO WIND
Light winds, heavy swells: PARALLEL TO SWELLS
Open window to equalize pressure.
Hold off flat tire as long as possible.
Note wind direction & velocity. Pick landing site.
Significant compass deviations may occur with alternator OFF.
Turn back or change altitude to air less conducive to icing.
A gradual loss of RPM and eventual engine roughness may indicate carburetor ice. To clear, apply full throttle and pull carburetor heat know to full open until the engine runs smoothly (could take a couple minutes).
Expect significantly higher stall speed.
Scrape ice from windscreen if possible for landing.
If necessary for visibility land using forward slip.
See landing without power checklist.
After discharging an extinguisher within a closed cabin, ventilate the cabin.
